Future Talent
The Fragrance Foundation UK are delighted to have supported The British Beauty Council in highlighting clear and diverse beauty career pathways for young people with their 'future talent programme'. The official launch took place on 6th February 2023 at No.10 Downing Street. Gillian Keegan, Secretary of State for Education, endorsed the programme on behalf of the Government and thanked the Beauty & Fragrance industry for its contribution. In attendence and representing the fragrance industry were Linda Key-Jackson, CEO, and Jessie Rosenberg, Marketing & Social Media Manager, of The Fragrance Foundation UK. Also in attendance was Gergely Markus, Retail Training Manager and Apprentice for The Perfume Shop, who joined a discussion led by Akshata Murthy to celebrate Apprentice week.
The aim of the 'future talent programme' is to maintain a continuous flow of new talent into the sector which will maintain the UK’s beauty industry global reputation. With a campaign dedicated to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths), we want to support in broadening the horizons and understanding of available careers in beauty and fragrance. This is the first dedicated beauty-related resource for secondary schools showcasing just how enriching the careers are across the beauty and STEM sector.
In a film dedicated to fragrance, we encourage young people to understand the importance of STEM in all areas of our industry. Formulations, innovation, sustainability, and creativity embody the work in fragrance, and it is an unbelievably exciting time to be thinking about joining our industry. We join a fantastic representation of the fragrance community to discuss just how important STEM is.
