Francis Kurkdijan
Francis Kurkdjian is a French contemporary perfumer & businessman who was made famous at the age of 26 designing the legendary Le Male for Jean Paul Gaultier. This initial success has been followed by over 40 creations for major perfume brands across the world including Elie Saab Le Parfum, My Burberry & Narciso Rodriguez for Her. Francis had decided at the young age of 15 that he wanted to be a perfumer, despite a complete lack of knowledge about the profession. However, he quickly understood that it would be replete with discipline and perseverance – values he learned during years of piano and ballet lessons.
In 2009 he co-founded his own luxury fragrance house Maison Francis Kurkdjian with business partner Marc Chaya near the Place Vendôme in Paris. The business has expanded hugely within the niche luxury fragrance market with over 300 locations worldwide.
Several of Francis’ creations under his own name have been shortlisted for our Fragrance Foundation Awards including À La Rose & Pluriel Masculin.
